Crankshaft Sprocket

Install crankshaft sprocket (1) onto crankshaft.

Install oil pump drive chain. Verify that Oil pump is correctly timed (1, 2, 5, 6).

Reset oil pump drive chain tensioner by pushing plunger inward and install tensioner pin (special tool #8514, Pins, Tensioner).

Install oil pump drive chain tensioner (3) and remove Tensioner Pin (special tool #8514, Pins, Tensioner) (4).
Install timing chain. Refer to CHAIN AND SPROCKETS, TIMING, INSTALLATION .
Install oil pan. Refer to PAN, OIL, INSTALLATION .
Fill engine with oil. Refer toSTANDARD PROCEDURE .
Start engine and check for leaks.

NOTE:

The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system. For example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components. Refer to appropriate Engine Electrical Diagnostics article.
