Relay, Horn: Description: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Dodge Journey and 2015 Dodge Journey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The horn relay is a electromechanical device that consists of an electromagnetic coil, a resistor and a pair of normally open electrical contacts. One of the two electrical contacts is fixed, while the other contact is movable. The movable relay contact is held away from the fixed contact by spring pressure. The horn relay for this vehicle is soldered in place on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) internal to the Power Distribution Center (PDC), which is located within the engine compartment near the battery.
The horn relay cannot be repaired or adjusted and, if ineffective or damaged, the entire PDC unit must be replaced.
