1 - OVERDRIVE PISTON AND SPRING

2 - UNDERDRIVE PISTON AND SPRING

NOTE:

If valve body assembly is being replaced or reconditioned, it is necessary to perform the PCM Quick Learn Procedure (Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, STANDARD PROCEDURE ).

Install underdrive (2) and overdrive (1) accumulators.

1 - VALVE BODY

CAUTION:
When installing the valve body, be sure the VLP solenoid and sensor harness does not become pinched between the valve body and the case.
Install valve body assembly (1) to transaxle.

1 - VALVE BODY ATTACHING BOLTS (18)

2 - VALVE BODY
Install and tighten valve body-to-transaxle case bolts.

1 - OIL FILTER

2 - O-RING

Install transaxle oil filter (1). Inspect the O-ring (2) and replace if necessary.

1 - OIL PAN

2 - 1/8 INCH BEAD OF MOPAR ATF RTV (MS-GF41)

3 - OIL FILTER

Ensure the transaxle oil pan and transaxle case sealing surfaces are clean and dry. Install a 1/8" bead of Mopar® ATF RTV (MS-GF41) to the oil pan and install.

1 - OIL PAN BOLTS (USE RTV UNDER BOLT HEADS)
Torque oil pan-to-transaxle case bolts to 19 N.m (165 in. lbs.).
Lower vehicle.
Connect transmission range sensor connector.
Install manual valve lever to manual shaft.
Install gearshift cable to manual valve lever.
Connect battery negative cable.
Fill transaxle with Mopar® ATF +4 Transmission fluid. Refer to FLUID, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
