Vehicles equipped with the Passive Entry (PE) system have a unique liftgate handle and light bar unit that incorporates a PE liftgate lock and unlock switch and push button (2). This tactile switch is secured to the underside of the left side of the handle and light bar unit by two latch features (3) integral to the switch housing. The switch button extends through a clearance hole in the handle housing so that it can be accessed on the outer surface of the handle to the left side of center.

A short two-wire pigtail and connector (1) connects the switch to the vehicle electrical system through a dedicated take out and connector of the liftgate wire harness.

The PE liftgate lock and unlock switch cannot be adjusted or repaired. If the switch is damaged or ineffective, the entire switch unit must be replaced.
