Panel, Instrument: Removal: Removal

CAUTION:
Do not attempt to remove the instrument panel as an assembly. The instrument panel cover/pad must be removed prior.
- Remove the instrument panel cover/pad. Refer to PAD, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the vehicle harnesses (1, 2) located on the driver side of the vehicle.
- Disconnect the harness (1) from the occupant restraint controller. Refer to MODULE, OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the harness (1) from the body control module located on the lower passenger side.
- Disconnect the harness (1) from the HVAC housing actuator.
- Disconnect the harness (1) from the HVAC housing blower motor.
- Detach the harness (1) from the HVAC housing.
- Disconnect the harness (1) from the HVAC housing power module.
- Detach the harness retainer from the I/P structure.
- Disconnect the harness (2) from the HVAC housing actuator.
- Remove the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolt (1) located on the right side of the HVAC housing.
- Remove the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolt (1) located on the left side of the HVAC housing.
- Remove the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolts (1) located in the center of the structure.
- Remove the fastener (1) securing the outboard HVAC duct to the I/P structure/support.
- Remove the fastener (1) securing the duct to the HVAC housing near the center bezel area on the LH side.
- Remove the fastener (1) securing the duct to the HVAC housing near the center bezel area on the RH side.
- Remove the fastener (1) securing the I/P structure to the center floor bracket. Repeat on the opposite side.
- Remove the two fence bolts (2) securing the upper brackets (1).
- Remove the two bolts (1) securing the I/P structure side to the vehicle. Repeat for the opposite side.
- With the help of an assistant, lift the I/P structure (1) and upper HVAC ductwork up and rearward.
- Remove the I/P structure (1) from the vehicle. If necessary, separate the ductwork from the structure.
