Diagnostic Test

  1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, clear DTCs.
    3. Turn the Rear Windshield Washers on and off.
    4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool read: B2341-11-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (-) CONTROL - CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. ATTEMPT TO SET THE OPPOSITE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Turn the Rear Windshield Washers on and off.
    5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool read: B2341-13-FRONT/REAR WASHER MOTOR (-) CONTROL - CIRCUIT OPEN?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (W20) REAR WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM A harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Measure the voltage between ground and the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

      Is there any voltage present?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to voltage in the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (W10)/(W20) WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Measure the resistance between the (W10) and (W20) Washer Pump Motor Control circuits.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

      • Repair the short between the (W10) and (W20) Washer Pump Motor Control circuits.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  5. CHECK THE (W20) REAR WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.

      Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (W20) Rear Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
