Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Turn the Windshield Washers on and off.
    3. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present. Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
    5. Turn the Front Windshield Washers on and off.

      Does the test light illuminate when the Front Windshield Washers are turned on?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3.

      No 

      • Go To  4
  3. CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to voltage, probe the Ground circuit Washer Pump Motor harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the open in the Ground circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE (W10) FRONT WASHER PUMP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the BCM A harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit between the BCM A harness connector and the Washer Pump Motor harness connector.

      Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the open in the (W10) Front Washer Pump Motor Control circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
