Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read the Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- With the scan tool, read the Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- CONFIGURE THE BCM TO THE VEHICLE
- With the scan tool, program the BCM to the vehicle configuration.
- With the scan tool, erase BCM DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from off to on at least five times, leaving the ignition on for a minimum of 90 seconds per cycle.
- With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.
Does the DTC return?
Yes
- Inspect the wiring and connectors for damage or shorted circuits. If OK, replace and program the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
