Striker Cap

NOTE:

The hood ajar switch striker cap is used only on vehicles manufactured for sale in certain export markets and equipped with the Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) system. It is not required for domestic vehicles equipped with the remote start version of the hood ajar switch.

  1. Position the hood ajar switch striker cap (3) to the inner hood panel (1) reinforcement over the hood ajar switch.
  2. Using hand pressure, press the two plastic retainers integral to the striker cap upward into the locating holes in the inner hood panel reinforcement until they are fully engaged.
  3. Install a new blind rivet (2) to secure the striker cap to the inner hood panel reinforcement.
  4. Close and latch the hood.
