Diagnostic Test

- CHECK ENGINE ANTENNA CONNECTION
- Gain access to the RF Hub connectors. Refer to MODULE, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF HUB), REMOVAL .
- Disconnect and reconnect the Remote Start Antenna at the RF Hub module. Refer to ANTENNA, REMOTE START, REMOVAL .
- Using the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Turn the ignition to the Lock position.
- Start the engine and allow to run for 30 seconds.
- Using the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK ENGINE ANTENNA CONNECTION
- Disconnect the Remote Start Antenna.
- Replace the antenna with a known good antenna.
- Turn the ignition to the Lock position.
- Start the engine and allow to run for 30 seconds.
- Using the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Radio Frequency Hub in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF HUB), REMOVAL .
- Replace the Steering Wheel Lock Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, SHAFT LOCK, REMOVAL .
- Perform the RADIO FREQUENCY HUB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:If this vehicle is equipped with a Steering Wheel Lock Module (Export) it will have to be replaced also.
No
- Replace the Remote Start Antenna in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to ANTENNA, REMOTE START, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
