The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) (1) is located near the rear main oil seal assembly. This sensor is used to generate a signal that corresponds to engine RPM. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) also uses the CKP to detect when the engine is at TDC. The CKP is located on the backside of the engine near the starter.
