Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Using a suitable jack stand and a block of wood positioned under the transfer case, raise the transmission until the weight is off of the isolator.
Remove the skid plate and transmission crossmember (7). Refer to CROSSMEMBER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL .

Remove the nuts and the rear engine mount isolator (1).
If required, remove the bolts and the rear engine mount bracket (2).
