Sensor, Axle: Removal: Front

NOTE:

The graphic illustrates the right front axle sensor installed. The installed left front axle sensor is similar.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Locate the front axle sensor (2) within the front fender wheel house.
  4. Disconnect the underbody wire harness connector from the sensor connector receptacle.
  5. Carefully unsnap the upper end of the front axle sensor link from the ball stud (3) on the forward-facing side of the front suspension upper control arm (4).
  6. Remove the two nuts (1) that secure the sensor mounting bracket to the two studs on the front end sheet metal.
  7. Remove the front axle sensor, bracket and link from the vehicle as a unit.
