Rear Crankshaft Oil Seal - Removal






REMOVAL





The rear crankshaft oil seal is incorporated into the seal retainer (2) and can not be removed from the retainer. The rear crankshaft oil seal and seal retainer (2) are serviced as an assembly.

1. Remove the automatic transmission, if equipped Removal.
2. Remove the manual transmission, if equipped NSG370 Manual Transmission - Removal.
3. Remove the flexplate, if equipped Flexplate - Removal.
4. Remove the flywheel, if equipped Removal.
5. Remove the upper oil pan Engine Oil Pan - Removal.
6. Remove the eight seal retainer attaching screws (1).
7. Remove and discard the seal retainer (2).
