Pitman Arm - Installation

INSTALLATION





1. Align and install the pitman arm (2) on steering gear shaft.
2. Install the washer and nut (3) on the shaft and tighten the nut to 251 Nm (185 ft. lbs.).
3. Install drag link ball stud to pitman arm. Install nut and tighten to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the track bar back into position at the frame.
5. It may be necessary to pry the axle assembly over to install the track bar (1) at the frame rail. Install track bar at the frame rail bracket. Install the nut and bolt (2) at the frame rail bracket.
6. Tighten the bolt (2) at the frame bracket to 169 Nm (125 ft. lbs.).
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
8. Fill power steering system to proper level, Power Steering System Bleeding.
9. Check the toe setting, Service and Repair.
