Particulate Air Filter - Removal

REMOVAL

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

WARNING: Always make sure the A/C-heater system is turned off and that the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to servicing the particulate air filter. Never place fingers or other objects into the filter opening of the HVAC housing. Failure to follow this warning may result in serious injury.

1. Remove the glove box bin Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal.
2. Disengage the two retaining tabs (1 and 4) that secure the two air filter access doors (2 and 5) to the HVAC housing (3).





3. Open the two air filter access doors (1 and 2).
4. Remove the two particulate air filters (4) from the HVAC air inlet housing (3). Pull the filter elements straight out of the housing, one at a time.
