Cabin Air Filter / Purifier: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION





Some models are equipped with two particulate air filters (1) that help purify the outside air entering the HVAC housing. The filters are mounted in HVAC air inlet housing, behind the glove box bin.

The filters should be replaced at least once a year or every 24,000 km (15,000 miles) and should be checked if system performance of the heating-A/C system seems lower than expected. Each particulate air filter is labeled with an arrow (2) to indicate the direction of air flow through the filter.
