Engine Coolant Thermostat-Removal-3.8L Engine

1 - MOUNTING BOLT
2 - THERMOSTAT HOUSING
3 - THROTTLE BODY ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove air filter housing. Refer to REMOVAL .
  3. Drain cooling system down below the thermostat level. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Disconnect throttle body electrical connector (3).
  5. Remove radiator upper hose at thermostat housing (2).
  6. Remove thermostat housing bolts (1) and thermostat housing (2).

    1 - THERMOSTAT HOUSING
    2 - THERMOSTAT
  7. Remove thermostat (2) from thermostat housing (1).
  8. Clean both sealing surfaces.
