Oil Pressure Relief Valve

1 - SPRING
2 - RELIEF VALVE
3 - RETAINER CAP
  1. Remove oil pan. See REMOVAL .
  2. Drill a 3.175 mm (1/8 in.) hole in the center of the retainer cap. See Fig 1. Insert a self-threading sheet metal screw into the cap.
  3. Using suitable pliers, remove cap and discard.
  4. Remove spring and relief valve. See Fig 1.
