Rear Brake Cable

NOTE: Park brake system must be locked out for servicing. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  1. Remove the center console (3). Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. Lockout the parking brake cable by pulling up on the brake cables at the equalizer (3) then installing or a suitable tool (1).

  3. Remove the cables from the equalizer (2).
  4. Remove the cables from the body bracket (1) using a wrench to fit the end of the cable snug to depress the tangs.

  5. Raise and support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the cables and grommets (2) from the floor (1) of the vehicle.

  7. Remove the cable (1) from the axle bracket (2).

  8. Remove the brake cable (1) from the brake lever (2) at the support plate.
