Diagnostic Test

1) EVIC SELF TEST RESULT
NOTE: The EVIC self test can performed manually or by using the scan tool.

Turn the ignition off.

Perform the EVIC self test.

Depress and hold the RESET and C/T (EVIC) buttons while turning the ignition on.

Does the EVIC display "PASSED SELF TEST"?

Yes
1. Go To step 2).
No
1. Go To step 4).
2) NO RESPONSE - PCI BUS - PCM
Turn the ignition on.

With the scan tool, select Body Computer, System Tests, then PCM Monitor.

Does the scan tool display "PCM Active on the Bus"?

Yes
1. Go To step 3).
No
1. Refer to COMMUNICATION for the related symptom(s).
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
3) NO RESPONSE - PCI BUS - BCM
Turn the ignition on.

With the scan tool, attempt to I/D or communicate with the BCM.

Was the scan tool able to I/D or communicate with the BCM?

Yes
1. Replace the EVIC in accordance with the Service Information.
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
1. Refer to COMMUNICATION for the related symptom(s).
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
4) NO RESPONSE - PCI BUS - EVIC
Turn the ignition off.

Perform the EVIC self test.

Press and hold the RESET and C/T buttons.

Turn the ignition on.

Does the EVIC display "BUS"?

Yes
1. Refer to symptom *NO RESPONSE FROM OVERHEAD CONSOLE .
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
1. The condition is not present at this time. Monitor scan tool parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals.
2. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
