Front Axle - 186FIA: Installation

NOTE:
Separate right axle shaft from the half shaft if necessary and install axle shaft in the axle.
- Install right bracket (1) to axle and tighten to 88 N.m (65 ft. lbs.). See Fig 1.
1 - LEFT REAR AXLE BRACKET 2 - BRACKET BOLT - Install left rear bracket (1) to axle and tighten to 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.). See Fig 2.
1 - LEFT FRONT AXLE BRACKET 2 - CRADLE BRACKET BOLT - Install left front bracket (1) to axle and tighten to 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.). See Fig 3.
- Raise axle up and align brackets with frame mounts.
- Install frame mount bolts and tighten to 88 N.m (65 ft. lbs.).
1 - FRONT CAM BOLT 2 - OUTER TIE ROD END 3 - LOWER BALL JOINT NUT 4 - LOWER CONTROL ARM 5 - REAR CAM BOLT - Install half shafts.
- Install right front control arm cam bolt (1) with marks aligned. See Fig 4.
- Install lower ball joint into lower control arms (4) and tighten nuts (3).
- Align clevis with knuckles and install clevis bolts.
1 - STABILIZER BAR 2 - STABILIZER BAR LINK - Install stabilizer bar (1) links (2) to lower control arms and install bolts. See Fig 5.
- Install oil filter trough.
- Install new half shaft hub nuts and tighten to 136 N.m (100 ft. lbs.).
- Install propeller shaft.
- Install axle vent hose.
- Fill differential with gear lubricant.
- Install skid plate.
- Tighten clevis and stabilizer links bolts to specifications.
- Check vehicle alignment.
