Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES CHART (HIGH BEAM INDICATOR INOPERATIVE)

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY

NOTE: Ensure that the Headlamp High Beams operate properly. If not, refer to the Exterior Lighting Service Information .
Turn the ignition off.Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.Turn the Headlamps on and actuate the High Beams.
NOTE: Ensure that the Fog Lamps are not actuated (Domestic vehicles only).
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, back probe the High Beam Indicator circuit.Does the test light illuminate brightly?Yes --> Go To 2No --> Repair the Dimmer Switch High Beam Output circuit for an open.Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .

2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Remove and inspect the High Beam Indicator bulb.
Is the indicator bulb filament open?
Yes --> Replace the High Beam Indicator Bulb in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
