Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES CHART (POOR SOUND QUALITY)

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII®, check for any audio related DTC's.
Are any Audio related DTCs set?
Yes --> Refer to the AUDIO CATEGORY  for the related symptom(s).
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Go To 2		 All
2 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII®, enter body, Instrument Cluster then miscellaneous.
Check the radio EQ curve setting and follow the instructions on the DRBIII®.
Is the radio EQ curve correct for the audio combination the vehicle is equipped with?
Yes --> Refer to the service information for problems related to poor sound quality and perform the appropriate checks.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Go To 3		 All
3 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII®, enter body, Instrument Cluster then miscellaneous.
Set the radio EQ curve. Follow the instructions on the DRBIII®.
Cycle the ignition switch from off to on.
Check the radio EQ curve setting.
Is the radio EQ curve correct for the audio combination the vehicle is equipped with?
Yes --> Refer to the service information for problems related to poor sound quality and perform the appropriate checks.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .
No --> Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1 .		 All
