Section 589 (Exhaust System): Muffler: Description

1 - EXHAUST PIPE/CATALYTIC CONVERTER FLANGE
2 - NUT
3 - MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
4 - INSULATOR
5 - GROUND STRAP

All engines use a stainless steel muffler and tailpipe assembly to control exhaust noise levels and exhaust back pressure. The 3.7L/4.7L muffler and tailpipe are a one piece assembly.

1 - MUFFLER TO FRONT EXHAUST PIPE/CATALYTIC CONVERTER FLANGE
2 - MUFFLER
3 - INSULATOR
4 -MUFFLER TO TAILPIPE/RESONATOR ASSEMBLY
5 - TAILPIPE/RESONATOR ASSEMBLY

The 5.7L tailpipe is serviced separately.
