Section 546 (5.7L Engine (Service Information)): Damper-Crankshaft: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
  2. Remove accessory drive belt (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - REMOVAL) .
  3. Drain cooling system (Refer to COOLING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
  4. Remove radiator upper hose.
  5. Remove fan shroud (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - REMOVAL) .
  6. Remove crankshaft damper bolt.

    1 - Special Tool 1023 Puller
    2 - Special Tool 8513A Insert
  7. Remove damper using Special Tools 8513A Insert and 1023 Three Jaw Puller.
