Upper Ball Joint: Installation

NOTE:
Extreme pressure lubrication must be used on the threaded portions of the tool. This will increase the longevity of the tool and insure proper operation during the removal and installation process.
- Install the ball joint (4) into the upper control arm (5) and press in using special tools C-4212-F (press) (2), 9652 (Driver) (1) and 8975-2 (Receiver) (4).
1 - UPPER CONTROL ARM 2 - UPPER BALL JOINT 3 - KNUCKLE 4 - UPPER BALL JOINT NUT - Install the upper ball joint (2) into the knuckle (3).
- Install the upper ball joint retaining nut (4) and tighten to 75 N.m (55 ft. lbs.).
1 - BOLT 2 - SPRING 3 - UPPER BALL JOINT 4 - KNUCKLE 5 - UPPER CONTROL ARM - Install the wheel speed sensor wire to the upper control arm.
- Install the tire and wheel.
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
- Perform a wheel alignment (Refer to SUSPENSION/WHEEL ALIGNMENT - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
