Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable.

Raise and support vehicle.

1 - BATTERY CABLE NUT

2 - SOLENOID TERMINAL CONNECTOR

3 - SOLENOID

4 - BATTERY CABLE

Disconnect solenoid wire connector (2) from solenoid terminal. See Fig 1.
Remove battery cable eyelet (4) from stud on starter solenoid. See Fig 1.

1 - STARTER/SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

2 - MOUNTING BOLTS (3)
Remove three starter mounting bolts (2). See Fig 2.
Remove starter (1) from transmission bellhousing.
