Diagnosis And Testing - Ambient Temperature Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Jeep Liberty. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn the ignition switch to the Off position. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor wire harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the ambient temperature sensor. At room temperature (approx. 68°F), the sensor resistance should be between 10-13 Kilohms (10000-13000 ohms). The sensor resistance should be between these two values at 68°F. If OK, the sensor is OK at this time. If not OK, replace the faulty ambient temperature sensor.
