Transfer Case - NV242: Assembly: Differential

- Lubricate differential components with automatic transmission fluid.
- Install sprocket gear in differential bottom case. See Fig 1.
1 - SPROCKET GEAR 2 - BOTTOM CASE - Install differential planet gears and new thrust washers. See Fig 2. Be sure thrust washers are installed at top and bottom of each planet gear.
- Install differential mainshaft gear. See Fig 2.
- Align and position differential top case on bottom case. See Fig 3. Align using scribe marks made at disassembly.
- While holding differential case halves together, invert the differential and start the differential case bolts.
- Tighten differential case bolts to specified torque.
