Tie Rod End: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly.NOTE: Mark the tie rod end jam nuts on the steering gear for easier installation.
- Loosen the tie rod end jam nut (1). See Fig 1.
- Remove the outer tie rod end (3) nut. See Fig 1.
- Separate the outer tie rod end (3) from the knuckle using tool C3894A.NOTE: Count the number of turns when removing.
- Remove the outer tie rod end (3) from the inner tie rod (2). See Fig 1.
