Section 505 (Exhaust System & Turbocharger): Turbocharger: Removal

1 - AIR CLEANER HOUSING

2 - INLET DUCT

Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove engine cover (Refer to ENGINE - REMOVAL) .
Disconnect the MAF and Inlet air pressure sensors wiring harness connectors, disconnect the air outlet duct from the turbocharger, and remove air cleaner assembly. See Fig 1.

1 - COOLANT RESERVOIR
Remove charge air cooler outlet hose from turbocharger (Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM/TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM/CHARGE AIR COOLER AND PLUMBING - REMOVAL) .
Drain cooling system.
Remove coolant reservoir. See Fig 2.

2 - BOLTS (4)
Disconnect the turbocharger actuator vacuum hose and position aside.
Remove turbocharger upper heat shield.
Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the lower splash shield. See Fig 3.

4 - ENGINE OIL COOLER

Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the turbocharger.

Remove the turbocharger support bracket. See Fig 4.

4 - BRASS SEALS	10 - GASKET
5 - TO CHARGE AIR INLET HOSE	11 - EXHAUST MANIFOLD
6 - TO AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY	12 - GASKET

Disconnect turbocharger oil return line at turbocharger. See Fig 5.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the turbocharger oil supply line. See Fig 5.
Remove turbocharger to exhaust manifold retaining nuts and separate turbocharger from exhaust manifold. See Fig 5.
