Engine Block: Description

The 2.8L CRD Diesel engine uses a cast iron engine block with wet cast iron cylinder liners. See Fig 1. The cylinder block has increased stiffness that reduces structural flexing and a fractured connecting rod cap design that can not distort connecting rod cap fit.
