Brakes - Base: Cables: Removal

- Lock out the parking brake cables (Refer to BRAKES/PARKING BRAKE - ADJUSTMENTS) . See Fig 1.
1 - PARK BRAKE CABLES 2 - CARPET - Remove the rear seat (Refer to BODY/SEATS/SEAT - REMOVAL) .
- Pull the carpet forward far enough in the rear to gain access to the two parking brake cables thru the floor. See Fig 2.
- Disconnect the two cables (1) from the front mount. See Fig 3.
1 - RETAINER CLIPS 2 - CABLES - Push the cables (2) thru the floor with the grommets.
- Remove the cable from the axle bracket with a proper sized box end wrench over the tangs (1).
1 - SUPPORT PLATE 2 - PARK BRAKE CABLE 3 - ACTUATOR LEVER - Remove the brake cable(2) from the brake lever (3). See Fig 4.
