Thermostat Housing: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system below thermostat housing level (Refer to COOLING - STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
  2. Remove thermostat (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/ENGINE COOLANT THERMOSTAT - REMOVAL) .
  3. Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor.
  4. Disconnect heater supply hose.
  5. Remove housing attaching bolts. See Fig 1.
  6. Remove housing and gasket. See Fig 1.
