Rear Axle - 8 1/4: Cover-Differential: Installation

1 - SEALANT

2 - DIFFERENTIAL COVER

Apply a bead of orange Mopar Axle RTV sealant (1) or equivalent to the housing cover (2). See Fig 1.
CAUTION: If cover is not installed within 3 to 5 minutes, the cover must be cleaned and new RTV applied. Failure to follow these instructions will cause a leak.

CAUTION: If housing cover is not installed within 3 to 5 minutes, the cover must be cleaned and new RTV applied. Failure to heed caution may result in damage.
Install cover and identification tag. Tighten cover bolts in a crisscross pattern to 41 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
Fill differential to specifications.
Install fill plug.
