Shaft-Propeller Rear: Removal

4 - PROPELLER SHAFT COMPANION FLANGE

With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.

Mark a reference line (3) across companion flanges (2) (4) and propeller shaft (1) for installation. See Fig 1.

Pry open clamp holding the dust boot (2) to propeller shaft yoke, if equipped. See Fig 2.

1 - FLANGE

2 - FLANGE BOLT
On 4x2 vehicles with manual transmission remover transmission companion flange (1) bolts (2). See Fig 3.
Remove pinion companion flange bolts.
Remove propeller shaft.
