Shaft-Propeller Rear: Removal

  1. With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
  2. Mark a reference line (3) across companion flanges (2) (4) and propeller shaft (1) for installation. See Fig 1.

    4 - TRANSFER CASE
  3. Pry open clamp holding the dust boot (2) to propeller shaft yoke, if equipped. See Fig 2.

    2 - FLANGE BOLT
  4. On 4x2 vehicles with manual transmission remover transmission companion flange (1) bolts (2). See Fig 3.
  5. Remove pinion companion flange bolts.
  6. Remove propeller shaft.
