Half Shaft: HALFSHAFT: Removal

  1. With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
  2. Remove half shaft hub nut.
  3. Remove stabilizer link (2) from stabilizer bar (1). See Fig 1.

    3 - LOWER BOLT
  4. Remove clevis bracket (2) lower bolt (3). See Fig 2.

    2 - OUTER TIE ROD END
    3 - LOWER BALL JOINT NUT
    4 - LOWER CONTROL ARM
    5 - REAR CAM BOLT
  5. Remover lower ball joint nut (3) and separate lower ball joint from the lower control arm (4). See Fig 3.
  6. Pull out on the steering knuckle and push the half shaft out of the knuckle.
  7. With a pry bar remove the half shaft from the axle.
NOTE: Right side half shaft has an axle shaft that may come out of the axle.
