Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE - LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Disconnect the Left Rear Door Ajar switch connector.
Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to 12-volts, probe the Ground circuit and test for continuity.
Does the light illuminate?
Yes --> Go To 2
No --> Repair the Left Rear Door Ajar Switch Ground circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .

2 Disconnect the Left Rear Door Ajar Switch connector.
Connect a jumper wire between the Sense circuit and the Ground circuit.
With the DRBIII® in Inputs/Outputs, read the LR DOOR AJAR SW state.
Does the DRBIII® display CLOSED?
Yes --> Replace the Left Rear Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
No --> Go To 3

3 Disconnect the Left Rear Door Ajar Switch connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 connector.
Measure the resistance of the Sense circuit between the BCM C2 connector and the Door Ajar Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes --> Replace the Body Control Module.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
No --> Repair the Left Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit for an open.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1  .
