Camshaft Oil Seal(S): Installation

  1. Install new camshaft oil seal using VM.1057.
  2. Install camshaft sprockets and tighten retaining bolts finger tight.
  3. Install timing belt (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN AND SPROCKETS - INSTALLATION) .

  4. Torque camshaft sprockets to 108 N.m using VM.1085 to hold sprockets. See Fig 1.
  5. Install outer timing belt cover (Refer to ENGINE/VALVE TIMING/TIMING BELT/CHAIN COVER(S) - INSTALLATION) .
  6. Install vibration damper.
  7. Install cooling fan support (Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/RADIATOR FAN - INSTALLATION) .
  8. Install accessory drive belt (Refer to COOLING/ACCESSORY DRIVE/DRIVE BELTS - INSTALLATION) .
  9. Install cooling fan and fan drive viscous clutch assembly. Refer to RADIATOR - FAN - VISCOUS .
  10. Connect negative battery cable.
