Installation - Glove Box Check Strap
WARNING:
ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. SEE AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
ARTICLE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
- Position the check strap to the upper glove box opening reinforcement.
- Install and tighten the screw that secures the glove box check strap to the upper glove box opening reinforcement. Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (20 INCH lbs.).
- Reinstall the glove box onto the instrument panel. See GLOVE BOX .
