Diagnostic Procedure

HIGH BEAM INDICATOR INOPERATIVE - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY

NOTE: Ensure that the Headlamp High Beams operate properly. If not, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTS .
Turn the ignition off.Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.Turn the Headlamps on and actuate the High Beams.
NOTE: Ensure that the Fog Lamps are not actuated (Domestic vehicles only).
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, back probe the High Beam Indicator circuit.Does the test light illuminate brightly?
  1. Yes : Go To 2
  2. No : Repair the Dimmer Switch High Beam Output circuit for an open.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

2 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Remove and inspect the High Beam Indicator bulb.
Is the indicator bulb filament open?
  1. Yes : Replace the High Beam Indicator Bulb in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

  2. No : Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.

    Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
