Rear Parking Brake Shoes (4-Wheel Disc)

NOTE: Under normal circumstances, manual adjustment is only required if shoes are replaced. Replace brake shoes when lining is worn to a thickness of 1/16" (1.6 mm) on bonded linings, or when worn to within 1/32" (0.8 mm) from rivet heads on riveted linings.
NOTE: Rear parking brake shoes can also be adjusted using brake shoe adjustment gauge. Rear rotor must be removed to perform procedure using adjustment gauge.

Raise and support vehicle. Release parking brake. Set gear selector in Neutral. Remove plugs in both rear brake backing plates to access star adjuster wheels. Rotate each star adjuster wheel until slight drag is felt when turning rear wheels. Back off adjusters enough to eliminate drag. Turn rear wheels to ensure no drag exists. Install plugs and lower vehicle.
