LATCH/GUIDE PLATE

REMOVAL
1. Remove the liftgate insulator pad.

2. Remove the three bolts attaching the latch and guide plate to the liftgate. (Fig. 6)
3. Remove the latch.

4. Squeeze the cable retainer clips and remove the cable housing from the latch assembly. (Fig. 7)
5. Disconnect the latch cable from the latch lever and remove the cable.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the latch cable to the latch and install the latch.
2. Install the guide plate and install the bolts.
3. Tighten the bolts to 16 N.m (12 ft. lbs.).
4. Verify liftgate latches are timed correctly.
5. Install the insulator pad.
