SAFETY RECALL F17 - HEATED SEAT ELEMENTS

2003 - 2004(WJ) Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
This notification applies only to the above vehicles equipped with heated front seats (sales code JRH, JTF or JTG) built after September 10, 2002 (MDH 09-10-06).

^ The front seat electric heating elements on about 5,800 of the above vehicles may overheat and cause an interior fire under certain operating conditions.
^ To correct this condition, both front seat heating elements must be replaced.

PARTS PACKAGE INFORMATION
Each dealer to whom vehicles in the recall were assigned will receive enough Heated Seat Element Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles.

DEALER VIN LISTS Located On DealerCONNECT - Global Recall System(GRS)
Global Recall System (GRS) has been developed to provide dealers with an up-to-date list of involved vehicles by recall number and by dealer code. Owners known to DaimlerChrysler are also listed. Involved vehicles will be removed from GRS within several days of submitting repair claims.
To use the GRS in Dealer CONNECT, you first need to click on the "Service" tab and then in the Reports and Information section click on "Global Recall System". Your dealer's VIN list for each recall displayed can be sorted by: VIN sequence, city, postal code, phone number or those vehicles that according to our records were unsold at time of the recall launch.
