Removal & Installation: CLOCKSPRING: Removal

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Place front wheels in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL .
- Remove retaining screw from bottom of lower steering column shroud. Unsnap halves of steering column shroud and remove both halves. Disconnect 2 lower clockspring electrical connectors. Remove 2 clockspring retaining screws. Slide clockspring up and off upper steering column shaft. If removed clockspring is to be reused, maintain clockspring centered position.
