Air Bag Control Module (ACM)

ACM is mounted on floor of transmission tunnel, under center floor console. ACM contains accelerometer, energy reserve capacitor and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD). ACM determines direction and severity of impact, deploys air bags and monitors system readiness. In the event of a system fault, ACM illuminates AIR BAG warning light and records system Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). DTCs and information regarding frequency and elapsed time of faults are stored in OBD memory until fault is resolved and memory is cleared.
