A. Inspect ORVR System Vent Hose Routing

1. Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist.

2. Remove the left rear wheel and tire assembly.





3. Drill out the five (5) plastic rivets that secure the left rear wheelhouse stone shield to the rear fascia and body (Figure 1).

4. Remove the stone shield.





5. Inspect the position of the ORVR system vent hose (Figure 2).

6. > If the vent hose is kinked and bent downward and:





> If the vehicle has been driven LESS than 20 miles, reposition the vent hose so that it is not kinked. Ensure that the vent hose is located in the clip and that it is approximately vertical. Secure the vent hose to the metal fuel filler vent tube with the tie strap (Figure 3), then continue with Section C - Inspect Fuel Filler inlet check Valve.

> If the vehicle has been driven MORE than 20 miles, the canister assembly must be replaced. Continue with Section B - Replace Vapor Canister Assembly.

> If the vent hose is properly routed (secured in clip and vertical), secure the vent hose to the metal fuel filler vent tube with the tie strap (Figure 3), and then continue with Section C - Inspect Fuel Filler Inlet Check Valve.
