Cover Fuel Filler

COVER - FUEL FILLER

REMOVAL

NOTE: In the event of a collision, the fuel filler cover is serviceable using the following procedure.

Fig. 18:

1. Remove the push pin fasteners. (Fig. 18)
2. Using a chisel or other suitable tool, remove the damaged cover.
3. Remove any remaining adhesive and clean mating surfaces.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: In the event of a collision, the fuel filler cover is serviceable using the following procedure.

1. Add a roap bead of butyl sealer to the sealing surface of the new cover.
2. Position the new cover and install the push pin fasteners.

CAUTION: Do not drill holes or install fasteners along the centerline of the cover.Do not use screws or other sharp fasteners during installation of the replacement cover.

Fig. 19:

3. Drill six 1/8 in holes in the locations indicated. (Fig. 19)
4. Install six 1/8 inch rivets that have a 1/2 inch reach into the six holes.
