BRAKE Warning Indicator Stays Illuminated, Brake System Is Okay
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect brake warning pressure switch. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (Gray/White wire) at brake warning pressure switch. If continuity exists, go to next step. If no continuity exists, repair short to ground in Gray/White wire between instrument cluster and brake warning pressure switch.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Gray/Black wire) at brake warning pressure switch harness connector. If no continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity exists, repair short to ground in Gray/Black wire between parking brake switch and brake warning pressure switch.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (component side) at brake warning pressure switch. Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (component side) at brake warning pressure switch. If no continuity exists at all terminals, replace indicator bulb. If continuity exists at any terminal, replace brake warning pressure switch.
